Some Thoughts on How To Allow

allow, sure, but where does agency come in? jesus take the wheel. okay, so you're driving and the car starts going out of control. do you then not try to prevent imminent physical pain or even death? do you somehow suppress reflexes and the healthy manifestation of fear that exists too flare up and warn us? that is more than i think i currently have the capacity for. i do see how you, or i, would have to seriously alter any innate reaction to self-preserve.

maybe the instance is straining the metaphor. of course you will protect yourself from bodily or emotional harm! many of us would instinctively move themselves between something that would randomly occur and harm another person. particularly one we would collectively see as vulnerable. a child or someone infirm due to age or illness. it occurs to me right now, that probably no. we wouldn't be able to stop ourselves.

it seems like whatever the outcome there's an experience to be had and that itself is the prize. it's hard to accept an experience that looks feels and is bad as positive, particularly if we're at the center of it.

if i looked at it that way i remember that shock waves or just energetic waves radiate from a central impact point. in the form of a shared echo of the initial event. someone is injured in some high-profile way that garners attention farther and farther from the point of origin.

someone falls requiring medical assistance and a call is made, by a companion or possibly an onlooker.

in both cases conversations will be had, memories will embed and the processed retellings can happen.

sometimes we remember people and incidents when they resonate with something out of our own personals are awakened. we may be see an opportunity to do more in a similar case when it wasn't possible before. some sort of self redemptive healing. i feel like it's something we can feel a strong desire to achieve. to reclaim and rectify a situation to our satisfaction. to make things right in the world again. like a reflection of nature or the very fabric of being. it's a strong imperative, or else, it's my ocd kicking up. snicker.

In any case, when is it all right to step in and interfere when one is making to allow? Somehow, I feel like this is more than surrender in a way I've yet to define. What outweighs the other? Even standing still when the end is certain and there's no time to save yourself? Do you stand still and be crushed? if so, I hope we're struck Within by a light of beatitude so obliteration doesn't matter and it's a righteous way to check out. Or, do you accept that you no way to control a hurricane and after it blows through you find yourself standing untouched in a door frame and all that had been homes and cars and they're inanimate content and open-air collage of deconstructed possessions you miraculously alive and intact either way is blessed I suppose.
