Now's The Time To Test Our Mettle

what would you have done? the time to answer is now. no old fight techniques will really change the way we do things. the way we do things must change.

all alliances must go. we must meet eye to eye, just the facts ma'am. the fact is, we need to stop preying on each other and treat each other better. as our line of engagement, but not attack. that's been both the way and the problem for eons and it's brought us to where we are today. at war with each other over poorly understood concepts. ones that exist without our consent, that mean us harm.

lots of poorly informed information is out there, expertly deployed and so we, are so undone. by handing over responsibility to dodgy authorities.

it wasn't always this way. a fact with less meaning each day. to stay in the past, or to desire to repeat it. or one embellished with a positivity that either didn't exist the way it's remembered, or is dreamt up to patch over that reality. that makes one feel better.

perhaps it's a craving for the exclusion factor and the cost to the others affected by the security of artificial superiority. allegiance to a set of ideals formulating a status quo that was always doomed to fail because of uneven weight distribution at the foundation. creating moments that favor no one, causing possible random injury to uninvolved passers by.

the phrase, "seen, need to be seen, no longer needing to be to be seen." has been circling my mind. it's of such important to us, to be seen. some to a greater degree than others, or to greater degrees at various points in life.

coincidentally or correspondingly there's the idea of the father wound, which i typically associate with females and my own experience with it. the manifestations are visible. the behaviors are. it occurred to me like a bolt of lightning that finally penetrated the barrier of mental noise i continually generate. oh, hell. the male father wound.

it too has visible effects. they often clash with the female father wound, feeding off each other, creating more dissonance. under the circumstances it's hard not to be in that dissonance, because we know no better.

we can do better. it's hard to pull ourselves from the cement blocks holding us underneath the programming and the conditioning. eventually, we feel the peril of being in the way of a collapsing tower. freeing ourselves to run.

remember, it feels that way. what has the power to bring the feeling to reality is us. we can change the way we feel and when we understand and believe it, is when we can move into confidence and a certainty of ourselves. it's then that we can make change happen, in ourselves. that has a way of also changing our world.

which brings me to the idea of all of this being part of a whole. all of this time, these current times that feel so precarious. everything feels chaotic and unsteady, even dangerous.

i've known for some time the world is in flux. unexpected changes to normality are like a walk across a floor with unseen trap doors. many of us are faced with existential fears and the impulse is to freeze. the way one does when they find themselves suddenly under assault. instinct is there to kick in and act as a protective mechanism. at some point we defend ourselves. success isn't guaranteed but if we don't try, we almost help defeat ourselves. regret tries to do us in.

our wound and generational conditioning is, until. until we make a move that we haven't before. these are controlling mechanisms in place, under constant development that work for the controlling authorities and against us. they use it against us, to turn us against each other. they groom us to worship the accomplishments of others. idols of all sorts. turning our attention away to these that we pay more into than they pay in returns. we would do better to save the investment for each other and ourselves on our own level. those of us we can see in the same stores we go to, or the next car over on the road. the people in our houses and of those we visit. we are the people that deserve all of that attention. the rich are already rich from profiting off of us. we can better use it and we need it more.

the more genuine we feed ourselves the better. the proof in usa is what it's being forced into at this moment. i refuse to play it that way, there's always another choice, another way that helps rather than hurts. that's the new paradigm i want to pursue and erect to withstand the resistance to the result.

i am not against a regression of sorts. a return to indigenous ways. it's where we we began and there's great knowledge to relearn there. we as humans have dulled our connection to the earth. we used to be more nomadic i think, and our travels were dictated by good weather good hunting and good forage.

we contain the same essential elements in large part as every other being on the planet, including the planet itself as we are all composed of the same base elements and so we have a great connection to it.

our modern life and technology have become harmfully invasive. food, and every other type of mass produced item is potentially harmful and has dampened our senses and that wild earth connection. it lives, in us and around us and i truly feel that the diminishment of it is in part, large part, of every malady we humans suffer today.

i thought i was done but haha, nope. i have some final words. i was looking at a photo of saturn and the moon and i can't remember why but i magnified the shot on my phone. my eye was drawn to the plasma clouds there in with the planets and i made the clouds bigger. you know how if you widen the space between the pixels the clarity of the image changes it into something else.

as i looked closely i found first what i thought were disembodied wings. the image took on animation and turned into a pair of hands, working something the way one does with bread dough or clay. they soon grew into arms and a full form seemingly seated at a potter's wheel. it could be imagery from antiquity or just the other day.

the figure's hair was shoulder length and they sat half turned away so the face's gender was hard to pin down. with the hair and a chin beard or mustache seeming to be there for a second then gone before morphing into a finer feminine visage. always in its own motion as the rest of the form sat and worked the wheel.

you may recognize the words potter's wheel from a bible story. a parable of sorts. the main part of it, at least the part speaking to me now, is the message that if it seems like things are heating up, and the world is, it's because we're all being forged in this moment. for withstanding even harder times. glass or ceramic, even metal is stronger than paper or fabric. we are being reinforced to stand and triumphantly survive and make our contribution to the future. for me, to in turn forge a better future. one i feel we will all be calling for any day.
